Root Canal Therapy

Saving Teeth, Restoring Comfort

Root canal therapy is a highly effective treatment used to save teeth that would otherwise need to be removed. At Rees Dental, our experienced clinicians use advanced techniques and modern equipment to make the process as comfortable and efficient as possible.

What Is Root Canal Therapy?

Inside each tooth is a soft tissue called the pulp, which contains the nerve and blood supply.
If this tissue becomes infected or inflamed, often due to deep decay, cracks, or trauma, it can cause pain and lead to tooth loss if left untreated.

Root canal therapy removes the infected pulp, carefully cleans and disinfects the inside of the tooth, and seals it to prevent future infection.

The Root Canal Process

Diagnosis and Local Anaesthetic
The tooth is assessed and numbed to ensure complete comfort.
Cleaning and Shaping
The infected tissue is removed and the canals are sterilised.
Filling and Sealing
The cleaned canals are sealed with a special material to protect against bacteria.
Restoration
In most cases, the treated tooth will need a crown for long-term strength and protection.
